Royal Visit to Callendar House

Falkirk Community Trust welcomed his royal highness, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex to Calendar House on Thursday as part of the on-going commemoration of the WW1 Centenary.  Prince Edward attended the WW1 exhibition within Callendar House named `Our Area in the First World War`.

The free exhibition, that was researched, designed and produced by local adults and school children, will be touring across Falkirk Community Trust venues throughout the year.  From Friday the 3rd of July until the 28th August, visitors can find the exhibition within Falkirk Library.

Joining the Earl of Wessex were staff from Falkirk Community Trust, local officials from Falkirk Council as well as some of the volunteers and schoolchildren that were involved in creating the project.

Ian Scott, Chairman of Falkirk Community Trust said:

"It was a pleasure to welcome his Royal Highness to Callendar House and also to our local area.  He was suitably impressed with the exhibition and commented on the efforts of everyone involved, including the local school children who helped create the display.  We hope his attendance at the exhibition will encourage others to come have a look and pay tribute to the WW1 centenary."
