Muckmedden Events presents - Falkirk Funduro

The Falkirk Funduro is a brand new event for 2015 coming to Callendar Estate, Falkirk on Saturday 21st November 2015. This unique day and night mountain bike Enduro race is perfectly pitched for young and novice riders with options for the more seasoned riders who like a challenge. The Funduro also makes for a great spectator event as the course is accessible enough that family and friends can be on hand to cheer you on as you hurtle towards certain joy.

Muckmedden Events know how to put the Fun into Enduro, with the launch of fantastically flowing upgraded Red trails and a brand new bike skills park courtesy of Bespoke Community Development Company. Built in partnership with Collective Trax these new features coupled with an all natural Enduro trail, only open for this event, offers an exciting day of riding for bikers of all ages. The optional night ride aspect of the event is fairly uncommon unless you are testing your mettle over a 24hour race and Falkirk Funduro offers a rare and welcome opportunity to familiarise yourself with the trails in daylight before strapping on your lights and thrilling your senses by riding them again after dark. You can round off the day joining family and friends to toast your success or just warm your bones at the bonfire.

The event includes a “Mini Funduro” for riders aged 6/11 and for riders aged 12+, there is the option of “Day Only” or “Day & Night” race entry.  All races cater for male and female riders, with a capacity for 350 riders in the main event. As is now tradition for Muckmedden Events, an all women “Muckmaiden Ride Out” will be held the week prior to the main event on Saturday 14th November, 4pm.

With a strong family focus at all Muckmedden events there will also be plenty of activities for the rest of the family. Trail tots will have balance bike races and coaching for teeny riders and parents can chaperone younger riders around the trails if they are new to racing or just a little nervous. Greenrig is also home to two beautiful new facilities which include Greenrig Cycles where you can get spares, repairs, buy and hire bikes. Canada Wood Kitchen is also on site, so you can cosy in and enjoy tray bakes and fresh coffee whilst muddy riders race past the windows.

Aaron Gray of Muckmedden Events, said: “Lots of our entrants bring their family to our events as they know there will always be kid’s races and other activities to keep them amused.”

Our Funduros have a super-friendly atmosphere and trails that are just technical enough to make riders feel elated, not deflated. They are the perfect events for the Enduro curious novice to try their hand at racing.  These events are all about having fun, not shaving tenths off stage times.”

Previous entrant Ally Mackay, commented: “Muckmedden events are ideal for somebody starting out because the races aren’t insanely technical, but technical enough for seasoned racers to enjoy them.  Also, the atmosphere is FUN rather than purely about serious competition”.
