Falkirk's tourism offer has been boosted this week by the opening of the new visitor centre at The Helix. It is a welcome addition offering locals and visitors a great place from which to observe The Kelpies in all weathers.
The visitor centre, which is open 10am - 5pm, 7 days a week, includes a brand new café area serving a selection of locally sourced snacks, hot food and home baking as well as an exhibition space that delves into the history of the Falkirk area and the making of The Kelpies. Visitors can also browse the new gift shop which offers a range of unique souvenirs and keepsakes from limited edition art works to seasonal goods that would make for beautiful Christmas gifts for any Kelpie fan.
Ian Scott from Falkirk Community Trust says:
'It was fantastic to see the first visitors coming through the doors on Monday and exploring the new Helix Visitor Centre. The new exhibition really compliments The Kelpies guided walking tour and the centre really is a fantastic addition to The Helix offering.'
