The "wee club with a big heart" scoops top accolade at Triathlon Scotland's Annual Awards event.
More than 150 people gathered at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh as part of Triathlon Scotland's annual Exhange conference and Annual Awards event. Grangemouth Triathlon Club is a well-deserved winner of the coveted Club of the Year award, where, in their inaugural year they have seen their membership soar to over 90 members. Firmly embedded in the local community, they have forged an incredible atmosphere throughout the club from training, to racing to volunteering and coaching; it's one big family.
A colourful club they are unmissable in their bright yellow and red triathlon kit, and are very much open to all, where they support all their members to achieve their goals and are also delighted to support a number of members with health issues and disabilities to train, enjoy and love triathlon.
On winning the award, co-founder and Club President, Robert Myler commented: “The club is one big family where all the members get involved and work together to make it the success that it is. It is great to get the recognition.”
Chief Executive Officer, Jane Moncrieff said: “Congratulations to Grangemouth Triathlon Club for their achievements this year. It is a fantastic day for the Club and there is no doubt they have created a real community feel where the club is certainly going from strength to strength. We look forward to watching Grangemouth Triathlon Club continue to grow in the future.”
