There was much excitement at the Hippodrome at the weekend as we received a letter from The Queen congratulating the Hippodrome on its Centenary year!
The Centenary Year came to a close last weekend where we held a special, celebratory event 'The Wrap Party', which looked back over the many exciting and innovative events that have studded ‘Hippodrome 100’: the project inspired by the Hippodrome and its place in the nation’s cinema-going heritage. The letter from The Queen states ' I have been asked to convey The Queen's warm good wishes to you and to all who will be present, for a most enjoyable and successful gathering.'
The Lord Lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk (Her Majesty’s representative in the area), Mrs Marjory McLachlan and Councillor Mahoney attended the Wrap Party where Marjory McLachlan read out the full letter from Her Majesty. Following this everyone was served mulled wine and a mince pie and a screening of magical tartan-tastic ‘Brigadoon,' the night was enjoyed by all and was a fantastic way to end our celebrations.
This has for sure made our year!
