In its role as heritage advisor to Falkirk Council, Falkirk Community Trust has been working on a second Heritage Delivery Plan for the area. This plan, like its predecessor, contributes to Inspiring Active Lives : a culture and sports strategy for Falkirk 2014 – 2024.
We involved a number of voluntary and professional heritage organisations in the area in the development of the Plan and the Trust are now seeking the views of the wider community.
Cllr. Robert Spears said “The area’s transformation over recent years has been built on its amazing heritage: buildings, landscapes, people and stories. The energy of heritage professionals and volunteers alike sits at the heart of this refreshed plan. The very challenging financial climate means that an increased level of partnership is required among existing organisations and communities to protect our shared heritage for current and future generations.”
A copy of the Plan, together with a series of questions, can be found on the Trust’s website and hard copies are available in all our libraries.
The consultation closes on 31 January 2018 and the final draft which will take into account responses from this consultation phase will be considered by Falkirk Council in Spring 2018.
