Improvement works at The Mariner Centre

We recently announced a temporary 6 week closure of the Mariner Centre from 23rd April to 4th June to allow the contractor Hadden to undertake mechanical and electrical works for the new soft play area ‘The Great Mariner Reef’. With the works well underway the contractor has reported that they now require seven weeks to carry out all necessary works.  We have no wish to stall the contractor as this may lead to delays in the completion of the works.  The facility will therefore now open on Monday 11th June.

We are very aware though of the disruption this will cause to our customers and this is something that we simply cannot avoid. We are committed to improving the services within the Mariner and we hope that you will appreciate this short term inconvenience, for the sake of a much improved facility for your future enjoyment.

We have attempted to minimise the impact on our customers, wherever possible, by making alternative arrangements as shown below, however please accept our apologies for this disruption.

Swimming Lesson Customers
We have attempted to relocate our Swimming lesson programme from the Mariner, to our other pools within the area and we will be in touch with our customers individually to advise of the relocated classes during this period. Please contact our bookings team if you have any questions on 01324 506850.

Health and Fitness Customers
We have been able to relocate 21 of our Fitness classes from the Mariner Centre to either Stenhousemuir Gym or Grangemouth Sports Complex, which you can access, as well as Bo’ness Recreation Centre. Our revised timetable will be available on Facebook and in our clubs from 5pm on 11 April.
If, however, travelling to other gyms is difficult for you, we can ‘freeze’ your membership for the month of May.

Please contact fitness@falkirkcommunitytrust.org if you wish to take up this option.

Mariner Centre fitness members will also receive a 50% discount on their June monthly membership fee to compensate for the loss of access to the Mariner.  This will be co-ordinated automatically by the Fitness team.

Karate and Falkirk Otters
Members of these clubs who are affected, will be contacted directly by club representatives and advised of their possible re-location over the 6 week temporary closure period..

We look forward to welcoming you back in June and hope that you will appreciate the completion of all the improvement works towards the end of the year.
