Its business as usual from the 11th June when the Mariner Centre re opens after construction work, undertaken by Hadden Construction, temporarily closed the building for 7 weeks.
This preparatory work means that Falkirk Community Trust will be in a better position to re-launch the Mariner Centre in a few months’ time with improved facilities and a brand new soft play centre, `The Great Mariner Reef`.
One improvement that customers can take advantage of next week however is the installation of the new accessible `Changing Places` facility – a fully accessible changing area with hoist and changing bench.
Other exciting changes for customers still to come in the forthcoming months will include a new coffee and café area, large adventure soft play and a new entrance direct from the car park with a new reception area.
Neil Brown, General Manager at Falkirk Community Trust said: “Although customers won’t yet see much of a difference to the building on the 11th June, other than the new fantastic changing places facility that has been installed, there is still much work going on behind the scenes as we prepare for the unveiling of the new and improved Mariner Centre to our customer later this year.”
Whilst visitors wait for the new facilities, there is still plenty to do at the Mariner Centre with all the facilities reopening as normal, including swimming lessons and fitness classes. There are also some exciting water events for the kids. Every Friday evening at 6.15pm there are pool inflatable fun sessions in the water called `Beat The Obliterator` and there are also pool fun parties happening every Saturday starting on the 16th June at 6pm.
