The much anticipated release of the latest adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel is coming to the Hippodrome this weekend. And the excitement is mounting as we head towards the sell-out opening night; it promises to be the bee's knees! So if you're in Bo'ness this evening you'll be able to spot us easily – there will be a vintage car outside, the red carpet, a jazz band to get us all in the mood and even some themed goodies in The Speakeasy Bar.
BUT fear not, if you haven't got a ticket for tonight, the fun will continue all weekend and there are still tickets available for the matinee and evening screenings on Saturday and Sunday.
Victorian Street Fair – Doors Open at the Hippodrome
12pm – 2pm, free
Join us again on Sunday 26 May (Bo'ness Victorian Street Fair Day!) when we'll be flinging the doors open to all to come and have a nosy round. If you've never been to the best wee cinema in Bo'ness yet (and where have you been?) now's your – no obligation – chance to see the beautifully restored interior, buy an ice cream and settle down to see some vintage footage specially selected to fit into the theme of the day in the town. The BFI have kindly provided some rare and very early films (an industry just in its infancy in the Victorian era) which we'll screen throughout the afternoon. So roll up, sit down and slide back in time and take a break from the hullaballoo in the Street.
(Doors open day is free, but you will be asked to pay if you wish to stay to see The Great Gatsby at 2.30pm)
