Falkirk library will once again be hosting an event as part of World Book Night on Wednesday 23rd April. Celebrating books and their authors, we will be encouraging people to pick up a paperback and fall in love with the story inside.
Our evening starts at 7pm on Wednesday 23rd April, and this year we will be focusing on the outdoors and aiming to inspire readers with a selection of adventure travel writes.
Nick Thorpe and Brian Wilson are two exciting writers who will be joining us to discuss their experiences and their latest books and will be giving their audience a chance to ask questions.
Award-winning author Nick Thorpe will be dropping by to discuss all his books including his latest work, 'Urban Worrier: Adventures in the Lost Art of Letting Go'. Hailed as “Pitch-perfect” by The Scotsman, it chronicles the adventure of Nick’s year long journey to explore the world and try to find out if it’s possible to keep everything in life in balance and find fulfilment in today’s non-stop 24 hour life.
Highland based author Brian Wilson is well known for his books detailing his adventurous travels, particularly on water. These include his critically-acclaimed first book “Blazing Paddles” which tells of his voyage around Scotland in a kayak in a journey that took him more than 1800 miles around the coast. Brian also writes a monthly column for Ocean Paddler magazine and will be discussing this as well as his plans for future projects.
