Local walkers took part in a trek along the line of the Antonine Wall on Sunday past. The event - part of Big Roman Week 2014 - led people from Polmont's Old Parish Church to Callendar House in Falkirk, taking in a length of the Wall en route.
Our Historian, Archaeologist and Keeper of Local History Geoff Bailey was on hand to point out Falkirk's significant Roman sites as well as more modern buildings near the World Heritage Site to the enthusiastic audience.
The Roman festival comes to a close this weekend (September 20 and 21), concluding with a family fun day at Kinneil Estate in Bo'ness; Doors Open Days at Kinneil House and Watling Lodge, Tamfourhill, and a walk from Callendar House to Rough Castle Roman Fort.
