It’s time to save the date for the Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema 2015!
The fifth Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema is back from Wednesday 18th March to Sunday 22nd March at Scotland’s oldest cinema and promises to be the biggest year yet.
Scotland’s only festival dedicated to silent cinema, where Music & Movies Come Alive! will showcase classic films and forgotten gems as well as new commissions, and play host to an international array of talented musicians. There is also a continued commitment to community and education outreach projects.

A special programme announcement is due next month, with the full line-up launching in early February when tickets will go on sale.
2014 showed record ticket sales and brought silent film and live music fans into Bo’ness and the wider Falkirk area from all over the UK. Councillor Adrian Mahoney, Falkirk Council’s spokesperson for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said:
“We’re delighted to continue our support for the Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema. The Festival creates a real buzz in the town and brings wonderful early films to the silver screen, accompanied by amazing live music. If you’ve never been before, it’s anything but silent. The Festival has grown year-on-year since its launch and I hope the fifth Festival in 2015 will be even more successful.”
