Congratulations to Larbert High School on achieving the sportscotland Gold status for the school sport award, which is based on improving the quality and quantity of physical education and school sport opportunities, within and out with the curriculum, placing physical education and school sport at the heart of their planning, practice and ethos.
Recently they also won the Sunday Mail school sport award; this was their second time in winning this accolade in the last three years.
The school works in conjunction with Falkirk Community Trust, Active Schools & Sports Development Teams to help strengthen links between local clubs, schools and the community. To achieve this all partners Tryst Community Sports Club, the Trust and Larbert High School staff are working together to promote health and wellbeing through opportunities in school and out with the school environment.
The Young Ambassadors within the school also help with these links, recently they helped to create the Larbert Legacy pledge with pupils from the cluster primary schools. This is a promise from all schools to continue the theme of Legacy from the Commonwealth Games within all of the cluster schools.
The Sports Leaders also play a pivotal role within the school environment by helping to support many Active Schools classes and events held for both the primary schools and the secondary schools.
A deserved achievement for Larbert High School who continue to deliver high standards allowing sports leadership and partnership across Falkirk.
