Judy Murray to Launch Free Tennis Scheme in Grangemouth

Anyone for tennis? Free classes are on offer to celebrate the new community access facility tennis facility at Zetland Park, Grangemouth.

UK tennis star Judy Murray is helping launch free tennis coaching locally later this month as part of a scheme designed to encourage all ages to take up the sport. The lessons are designed for any age and all the family to try their hand at the game of tennis.

The scheme will be launched on Saturday 9th May 10:00am – 12:00 noon in Zetland Park, Grangemouth where Judy, a team of our coaches and Tennis Scotland staff will be helping participants get their stroke and techniques right.

The regular two hour sessions will run every Saturday at the courts between 10:00am and 12:00noon and must be pre-booked by calling us on 01324 590940The sessions are split into age specific groups and participants are not directly coached but led through a series of activities and sessions. All equipment is provided.

“Over the past few years, tennis has caught the public imagination again and with the success of the likes of Andy Murray, its popularity continues to grow.

“These free sessions are designed for all ages and abilities and there are presented in a fun yet informative way. 

“As well as learning a new sport, participants will also feel the benefit of light exercise and the social aspects of meeting new people.”
