As part of Carers Week 2015, Callendar House will welcome a group of carers from Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre, for an afternoon out.
Carers Week, which this year takes place 8 – 14 June, is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK, with this year’s focus on building Carer Friendly Communities. A Carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support, with 3 in 5 of us becoming a carer at some point in our lifetime. Carer Friendly Communities are aware of the part played by unpaid carers within their community and will be geared towards addressing the needs of carers.
Here at Falkirk Community Trust, many of our facilities and events are free of charge, with paid events and outings offering free carer tickets for those accompanying someone who requires support, and group booking discounts available. Our team are also available to chat through any additional support needs or questions regarding your visit, which we aim to make a great experience.
On 8th June Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre have chosen to join us for the day at Callendar House in a group visit for carers. They support carers in the Falkirk district and Clackmannanshire area and would welcome any carers interested in the visit or their services to get in touch on 01324 611510 or firstname.lastname@example.org
