Neil is an experienced senior manager in the strategic planning, operation and development
of front line leisure services within the public sector, the last 13 years of which
have been within two different Trust organisations. Neil graduated from Jordanhill
College of Education, Glasgow, with an Honours degree in Education and subsequently
gained a post graduate Diploma in Management Studies.
Neil has played key roles in the organisations he has been a part of, leading large
teams through the compulsory competitive tendering process in the early 1990s, through
the Local Government reorganisation in the mid-1990s and more recently to the development
and leadership of Leisure Trust organisations. Neil has led the opening of several
new sports and leisure facilities, been involved in the management of major events,
operated five-star Visit Scotland attractions and led a highly respected sports
development service in his most recent post at Edinburgh Leisure, where he was the
Director of Operations for nine years.
As the General Manager of the Trust, Neil's key remit is to support the leadership
and delivery of its vision and objectives, by ensuring the effective and efficient
delivery of community services in the wider Falkirk area and to ensure the future
development and growth of the organisation.
Neil is a member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport & Physical
Activity. He has previously served as a youth organisation leader for 10 years,
played National League volleyball; chairing his club for several seasons, and remains
interested in all sports.
