Fitness class descriptions

The Clubs offer a wide range of classes that cater for and can be adapted to suit all ages and abilities.


Aquacise is a low impact water-based aerobics class, providing a highly effective cardiovascular and toning workout. Think it’s just for the over 50's? Think again!

Active Forth Class

This circuit style class is primarily designed for Active Forth clients and those who may benefit from lighter exercise.


A rhythmic aerobic exercise class, providing a good balance of cardiovascular fitness and toning, allowing participants to select their level of participation according to their own fitness level


Aerobiking is a cardiovascular exercise class based on stationary bikes which can be adapted to suit all levels of fitness. This is a 30 minute class that involves speed cycling, hill climbs and combinations of high and low resistance. Excellent for increasing stamina and burning calories!

Active Forth Aquacise

This class is a gentle water-based aerobics class, providing a cardiovascular and toning workout. This class is designed primarily for those on our Active Forth Exercise Referral scheme, but all are welcome!

Body Attack

The sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilisation exercises.

Body Balance

Incorporating Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates in a workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm using controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses.

Body Combat

This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai.

Body Pump

Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you'll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning in the original barbell workout.

Body Pump Technique

A great introduction to BodyPump to help gain an understanding of the key principles and techniques required for the fantastic muscular conditioning workout


Boxercise is a circuit based class which includes the use of boxing bags and focus pads, providing a good balance of cardiovascular and toning exercises for a whole body workout.

Bums, Tums and Thighs (BTT)

This is exactly what it sounds like. For a flatter stomach and tighter bum and thighs this is the class for you!


This is a good way to tone up and keep fit. Circuit training provides an efficient means of improving cardiovascular condition and muscle tone all in one. Stations include skipping, boxing, free weights and core work.

CX Worx

Looking for a short, sharp workout that’ll inspire you to the next level of fitness, while strengthening and toning your body? This 30 minute session combines the best of personal training with the energy of a group fitness class.

Fitness Blast

Fitness Blast is a mixture of aerobic and toning workouts, helping to improve cardiovascular and muscle tone.


Kettlercise is a brand new fitness class that incorporates the use of kettlebell training in a friendly group atmosphere. Regular kettlebell training is typically carried out using heavy weights whereas kettlercise is carried out using light weights and is set out in a non stop routine that will work every single muscle in your body to ensure you melt away fat, tone up, improve core stability and dramatically improve endurance.

Low Impact Exercise

This class is for active seniors or those new to exercise, providing a mix of low impact aerobics, toning, stretching and socialising.


The original 30 minute metabolic workout that lasts 24hours, changes resting metabolism, working big muscle groups with high intensity interval training.

Nordic Walking

A first for the Falkirk area, Nordic Walking is a full body workout that strengthens your back muscles, trains your core, shapes and tones your body, and helps you lose weight. It’s sociable, fun, and one of the fastest growing activities in Europe. Also run as part of Step Forth.
