Otago Walk and Class
At Falkirk Community Trust, we know the importance of keeping active, particularly as we age. We have developed an award winning Strength & Balance programme through our Physical Activity programming to help you maintain your independence, reduce the risk and effect of a fall, and enjoy being active in a friendly, sociable class.
Did you know that national physical activity guidelines for older adults now recommend activities which increase your strength & balance on two days of the week?
Our classes and gym programmes are based around the Otago Strength & Balance exercises developed in New Zealand. These exercises have been proven in clinical and community settings to improve strength and balance, and help reduce the risk of falls.
Our Otago Class and Walk run every Wednesday in Grangemouth and incorporate a 30 minute walk followed by an Otago class. The walk is optional. This class is very popular and we recommend contacting us beforehand to ensure your space.
