Archaeology
The Archaeology Service aims to preserve, record and research the physical cultural
remains of the past inhabitants of the Falkirk district and to make the results
available through a range of methods, including talks, exhibitions, publication
and education programmes.
The Roman period is the strongest feature of the Falkirk area's archaeology, especially
in relation to the Antonine Wall. However, the full range of human occupation of
the area is covered, from the Mesolithic period through the industrial era and military
sites from the wars of the 20th century.
