The Museum collection is made available to anyone studying the past. Recent work
by university students on the archaeology collection has included a study of box
flue tiles used to heat the rooms in Roman bathhouses; the distribution of lithic
assemblages in Scotland; the location of the vicus or civilian settlement at Carriden;
Roman finds on non-Roman sites.
The Museum also conducts its own research on the
objects and sites and produces Syntheses of the material.
