Doors Open Days give you free access to hundreds of fascinating buildings across
Scotland. Every weekend in September you can explore places normally closed to the
As part of Doors Open Days, buildings that are not normally accessible to the public
are opened free of charge over weekends in September.
It is Scotland's largest free
architectural event and is co-ordinated nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust as
part of the wider European Heritage Days initiative alongside Scottish Archaeology
Month, and supported by Historic Scotland.
The events are designed to stimulate
interest in the built environment and cultural heritage of the area, bringing together
people from all walks of life in celebration.

Polmont Young Offenders Institute will be open to the public on Sun 16 September as part of Doors Open Day. Due to the obvious security implications, applications for visiting required to be pre-booked and security checked, and are now fully booked.
