Doors Open Days

Doors Open Days

Doors Open Days give you free access to hundreds of fascinating buildings across Scotland. Every weekend in September you can explore places normally closed to the public.

As part of Doors Open Days, buildings that are not normally accessible to the public are opened free of charge over weekends in September.

It is Scotland's largest free architectural event and is co-ordinated nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust as part of the wider European Heritage Days initiative alongside Scottish Archaeology Month, and supported by Historic Scotland.

The events are designed to stimulate interest in the built environment and cultural heritage of the area, bringing together people from all walks of life in celebration.

Visit Doors Open Days for more information.

Polmont Young Offenders Institute will be open to the public on Sun 16 September as part of Doors Open Day. Due to the obvious security implications, applications for visiting required to be pre-booked and security checked, and are now fully booked.
