Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games

In July 2014, a selection of some of the world's greatest athletes from 71 Commonwealth nations and territories across the globe descended on Glasgow to compete in the XX Commonwealth Games.

Your children can get involved in the legacy of the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games right here in the Falkirk area with some of the our planned activities and sports groups.

The Queen's Baton Relay

The Queen's Baton Relay was the curtain-raiser to the XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Over a period of 288 days the baton visited 70 nations and territories, covering 190,000km and involving a third of the World's population.

The Baton Relay was launched on its global journey by Her Majesty The Queen in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, attended by some of Scotland's greatest athletes, inspirational young people and senior representatives from across the Commonwealth.
