The Sports Development clubgolf programme offers coaching for 7-14 years.
Clubgolf is Scotland's junior golf programme, launched in 2003 to fulfil
the Scottish Government's promise to provide every child in Scotland with an opportunity
to experience golf, and is part of Scotland's commitment which formed part of the
successful bid to host the 2014 Ryder Cup.
All coaching takes place outdoors with classes going ahead regardless of the Scottish
weather, so players must come prepared for all weather. Classes can take place inside
the Par 3 clubhouse during severe inclement weather.
Each level offers 10 hours of tuition with classes taking place locally using purpose-built
practice areas at Callendar Park Par 3 Golf Course. All junior golf equipment being
supplied but players are encouraged to bring their own clubs if they have them.
- Level 1: the perfect fun introduction to golf. Players work on
basic skills to build a strong foundation of knowledge using quality junior golf
- Level 2: builds on the skills learned during Level 1 with an increased
focus on etiquette and an understanding of the rules. Participants must complete
Level 1 before progressing to Level 2.
- Level 3: takes golf tuition to a higher level: idea for those keen
to explore golfing skills in more detail and refine their game.
- Level 4: the ideal progression for players wanting to build upon
the skills learned in the Level 3 course.
