Falkirk FC: A Fans' View

Falkirk FC: A Fans' View will run from Sun 10 June to Sun 28 October within the 2nd Floor Galleries at Callendar House, Falkirk, and is a must for all football fans and lovers of 'the beautiful game'.

Created by fans, this exhibition doesn't just feature nuggets from the Club's history but contains surprising objects, images and documents. Aimed at all ages, visitors will discover how Falkirk FC became the first Scottish Club to break the world record transfer fee as well as the players being amongst the first to recognise the importance of image rights! Learn about the Club’s event-filled 1953 trip to Israel and Malta and just how they ended up invited to a local wedding!

The culmination of years of passion, this exhibition examines some of the more unusual stories from the Club's past and will prove fascinating to fans and non-fans alike. Even if your team allegiance lies elsewhere, there's still plenty to enjoy and remark upon.

Adding an element of intrigue, the hunt is on to reunite a Falkirk FC supporter with a scrapbook uncovered during research by the organisers of the forthcoming 'Falkirk FC - A Fans' View' exhibition.

The scrapbook features press cuttings and photographs as well as match reports written by the young fan with individual player ratings and man of the match selections and a number of player autographs.

FCT Curator Niamh Conlon said "The scrapbook is a fascinating insight into the Club in season 1963/64 and was obviously a labour of love as the time and effort put in to creating the scrapbook spanned at least one full season. We are assuming the fan was a young boy, probably aged between 10 and 15 years old so that would make him approximately in his mid to late 60's today. It would be fantastic to reunite the scrapbook with its original owner after all these years. Curiously, there is one photograph in the scrapbook taken of Grangemouth YMCA football team in 1967 and we think there is a possibility the original owner of the scrapbook is featured in the photograph."
