Grangemouth Golf Course
Next Season's Operation of Grangemouth Golf Course
As you may know, Grangemouth Golf Club has been preparing a business plan for their intended future operation and management of the Grangemouth Golf Course. This transfer of operation was intended to take place from the 1st of April 2019. However, the Club has requested an extension of time from Falkirk Council and Falkirk Community Trust, to help them complete a robust and sustainable Plan that seeks to ensure the longer term operation of the course.
We are happy to advise that the Council has agreed to the Club's request for an extension and are expected to allocate additional funds to the Trust to help us continue the operation of the course until the end of March 2020, at which time the operation and management of the course is intended to transfer to the Grangemouth Golf Club.
The Club will continue to work on their Business Plan and we will continue to provide support to them wherever we can. Although there is still potential for the Council to amend their position at their budget meeting in February/March 2019, we feel that we are in a positive position moving forward knowing that the operation of the course looks to be secure for another season, under the Management of the Trust.
With this in mind we will now consider what actions we need to take in readiness for another great year of golf for all our season ticket holders. There are many things you can do to give your course a bright future - including renewing your season ticket next year, inviting guests to play with you so they can see the quality of the course and sharing information about Grangemouth Golf Course with other golfers who may wish to buy a season ticket for the first time.
Grangemouth Golf Course is a beautifully laid out 18 hole parkland course on gently
sloping terrain providing a challenging but fair test of golf. Situated on 500 acres
of Scottish countryside the course is surrounded by Polmont Woods, a local fishery
and views of the Ochil Hills on the back 9.
It is a 6,432 yards White Tee Par 71, 6049 yards Yellow Tee Par 70 and 5542 Ladies/Junior
Tees Par 73. The signature Par 3 7th plays over the edge of a reservoir to a slightly
elevated green, guarded by several greenside bunkers. The 1st and 10th tees are
located beside the clubhouse and the Pro-Shop, offering the possibility of 2 tee
starts, with an ideal stop off for refreshments.
Bunkered Magazine said of Grangemouth Golf Club that it "is surely one of the best municipal
courses in Scotland". Since the course opened in 1974 it has played host to numerous
PGA events - an indication of how highly is it rated.
We offer a range of different season ticket options and 'pay and play' round and
day tickets. Please see the
prices page for this year's fees.
There is also a club associated with the course which is run privately by the members.
You don't need to be a member of the golf club to buy a season ticket with FCT but
you can't be a member of the club without a season ticket.
