Movies on the Move
Films screened on steam trains. This was the Hippodrome’s 100th anniversary outing
to the nearby scenic Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway. Cinema carriages were operating
right up until the 1960s and the beautifully refurbished 1937 Gresley Buffet Car
made a fine cinema during the rainy October holidays. Screening ‘The Titfield Thunderbolt’
and ‘The Lady Vanishes’, we were transported back to the golden age of steam and
Hollywood in the cosy carriage.
