Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema 2015

Wednesday 18 March - Sunday 22 March

The 5th Hippodrome Festival of Silent Cinema took place 18th-22nd March 2015 with yet another record-breaking number of people enjoying an extended programme from returning and new performers. This not only included wonderful screenings at the Hippodrome cinema, but also an exciting collaboration with Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway, a Speakeasy at Bo’ness Town Hall, a Taste of the Silver Screen food and drink workshop and an exhibition of silent film images from The Herald and Times Group’s archives.

Here’s what a few of our audience had to say about this year’s Festival:

We’d like to thank all the performers, volunteers, businesses, organisations and audience members who supported us yet again; without you we couldn’t have achieved 11 sold out performances and attracted over 2600 attendees.

If you missed this year’s Festival, don’t despair. You have another chance to catch the Festival-commissioned pieces for ‘Annie Laurie’, ‘Salt for Svanetia’. out how here. You can also still see our Silent Stars in Scotland exhibition.

For another chance to see our Laurel and Hardy Triple Bill with live accompaniment book your tickets now for our encore at the Hippodrome on Saturday 18th April, 19:30.
