Callendar House

Drawing Room

Created in 1785 the Drawing Room was one of the main public rooms of the house. It was created to impress guests who would have spent their time here with the family. On the first floor the expansive bay window offers stunning views over Callendar Park. Fully equipped with AV, the Drawing Room makes an impressive venue for a meeting, meal, ceremony or celebration and can be arranged in a number of suitable configurations.

The restored original working kitchen is staffed by costumed interpreters and is one of the highlights for visitors to the House. Your guests or delegates are very welcome to visit, a typical visit takes approx. 20 mins but can be tailored to your particular requirements. We can arrange for Wedding photographs to be taken here, a surprising and unique backdrop.

Museum and Galleries

During the day, although open to the public, your guests or delegates are encouraged to relax and explore the House and Park. During lunchtime for instance, or while the Wedding Party is being photographed, a visit to the museum and the Park Gallery (ground floor) is a great ice breaking opportunity and a chance for networking. Talks and tours of the current exhibitions can be arranged.

Staircases

The Grand Stair was built in the 1860s when massive alterations to the House provided an entirely new frontage. Porte Cochere, (the porch) was added to the north front of the house in 1868 and converted to an entrance hall in 1878 when the windows were installed. Today the area is our reception and shop.

The Cromwell Stair, like the Grand stair, is panelled with oak and the vibrant classical style ceiling painting is one of the House's highlights.

Callendar Park

Outdoor spaces and the support of the Outdoor Team are available for directed or self-initiated active pursuits, including walking trails, mountain biking, canoeing and team building exercises.
