Safety Last! (1923) silent with live piano accompaniment by Mike Nolan
The Hippodrome is proud to present 'Safety Last!', the famous ‘thrill’ comedy starring the ultimate daredevil Harold Lloyd with live accompaniment by acclaimed composer and performer Mike Nolan.
A small-town lad moves to the big city with hopes of establishing himself enough to send for his sweetheart and marry her. Thanks to hilarious plot developments he finds himself performing a death-defying publicity stunt… scaling the outside of the towering building to earn a big fat bonus. Lloyd’s famous climb is one of the most famous scenes in cinema history, and even more astounding when you know that no special effects were used – he really was that high up!
