Event description

Want to create your own comics and graphic novels? Improve your technique? Figure out how to get your designs down on paper?

The hugely talented Tom Foster will be with us at Falkirk Library's Comic Takeover with a tutorial for young people aged 9+.

Tom illustrates for legendary 2000AD/Judge Dredd Megazine and is the winner of the prestigious Thought Bubble 2000AD Portfolio Competition. We're thrilled that he's agreed to come along and share his skills and experience!

This is sure to be a busy day, and a busy workshop, so booking for the workshop is essential.

About the Comic Takeover
A day of comic books and gaming fun for the whole family!

Join us for a day of comic creation sessions, make your own digital art on our iPads, play PS4, code your own animation and meet our robots!

Falkirk Libraries Comic Takeover is back to launch our Summer Reading Challenge on Saturday 16th June. The theme this year is Mischief Makers, based on The Beano, so we've got a whole day of comic, art and digital fun lined up for kids of all ages.

The whole day is free and all activities are drop in, with the exception of our workshop with comic book artist Tom Foster.

Fun starts at 11am and runs until 3pm.

My child is under aged 9, can they attend this workshop?

Due to the content of the workshop  it isn't suitable for very young children, but don't worry, there are loads of opportunities to draw, create and make all day at the Comic Takeover.

I can no longer attend, what should I do?
We'd appreciate it if you could let us know so someone else can attend in your place. If you go into your Eventbrite account you'll be able to return your ticket. Alternatively drop us an email at,
