After careful consideration and in light of the guidelines issued by the Scottish Government, it is with enormous regret that we have taken the decision to postpone the 2020 pantomime, Beauty and the Beast. However we are not saying goodbye completely and the pantomime will be back for our Christmas season in 2021.
We have made this decision after carefully assessing the options open to us in relation to social distancing within our venue as well as the financial risk for us and our producers, but most importantly we believe that you need to experience a pantomime in a packed auditorium full of families and friends who can interact with one another and the actors on stage, as that is the beauty and tradition of pantomime. We would be unable to achieve that this year and so would not be doing the art form justice. Therefore, postponing until next year feels like the most sensible, fair and safe option. You can however buy tickets soon for Beauty and The Beast 2021, an ideal Christmas gift for friends and family.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we won’t be able to run the Christmas Adventure this year. However, we are in discussions to agree on what we could safely offer families this year and we will advise our customers as we confirm details through our social media channels and website.
Subject to Scottish Government guidelines and the successful completion of regulatory safety testing with Falkirk Council, we are hoping to reopen the Hippodrome Cinema in Bo’ness on Friday, 4th December. We are planning to offer a selection of festive (and other) films running throughout the month. As soon as we have details of the programme confirmed, we will advise you through our social media channels and on the Hippodrome website.
Due to the risks associated with mass gatherings we have decided to postpone the event in 2021. The Helix, Home of the Kelpies will remain open as will the Visitor Centre for hot drinks and food, so you can continue your New Year tradition by talking in a New Year’s Day or 2 January walk around the park.

We appreciate your support of our popular Maker’s Market, but following guidance from the Scottish Government, we are unable to host the Market this year.
Following Government guidance on social distancing, we will not be offering Cosy Christmas Read this year. The Helix, Home of the Kelpies will remain open as will the Visitor Centre for hot drinks and food, so you can visit over the festive period with the centre closing on the 25 December only.
