Callendar House Tea Room reopening Statement

Callendar House has been open to the public since 10 September and we are delighted to announce that the Tea Room will reopen on 14 October. You can book your table now by going online or by calling 01324 506850.

The House and the Tea Room have been subject to extensive safety testing following their prolonged closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have also met the requirements of VisitScotland’s “Good to Go” accreditation to further assure visitors that they are safe to visit.

The Tea Room has a reduced capacity to allow for social distancing and there are also hand sanitisers, floor markers and a one way system in and around the Tea Room. Customers will be required to wear a mask when entering and moving around in the Tea Room but in line with Government guidance can remove them when seated. The menu itself is as delicious as ever offering hot filled breakfast rolls served until noon and an array of fresh soup, sandwiches and baked potatoes, not forgetting the classic Callendar House scones and tray bakes.

We have also introduced a Bake Away option offering a slightly reduced menu for customers who want to enjoy a take away. This can be accessed by ordering at the new entrance left of the main door, with payment and pick up at the Gift Shop, meaning customers don’t have to access the House at all; no advanced booking is required for this new service.

The Afternoon Tea offer will be available from 1 November with booking available online and over the phone from 14 October. For customers with gift vouchers, if the gift voucher was booked online, they can book their table online. If the voucher was purchased in person please call 01324 503770 to book.

The House itself also has enhanced safety procedures which include a new one-way system, strengthened cleaning regime, together with hand sanitisers and sneeze screens in the Gift Shop, and we kindly request customers use contactless card payments where possible.

Our opening hours remain the same: 10am – 5pm, Wednesday to Monday with the last sitting in the Tea Room at 3.00pm.

Test and Protect
In order to comply with the Scottish Government’s Test and Protect scheme, we ask that visitors pre-book their free visit to Callendar House and table in the Tea Room online or by calling 01324 503770.
