Venue Closure Statement
Following the announcement from the First Minister placing mainland Scotland in Covid protection level 4 from Saturday 26 December, we are suspending a range of services until further notice from this date. In line with the Scottish Government’s advice on reducing social contact and maintaining the safety of all of our customers and staff, these closures align us with the national effort to slow and eliminate the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19). Please visit our website for specific closure times for each venue.
Sport & Leisure
The closures include all sports and leisure facilities with the exception of Grangemouth Golf Course where members can continue to play whilst following safety measures in place. Grangemouth Stadium will remain closed over the festive period, although will open from the 5 January for outdoor fitness classes and athletics club training sessions.
Culture & Libraries
Culture facilities including Callendar House, Kinneil Museum, all eight Libraries and the Hippodrome Cinema will not reopen after Christmas Eve. The Home Library Service will resume from the 5 January.
Bo’ness, Grangemouth and Falkirk Town Halls will remain closed over the festive period and reopen in the New Year to support the NHS vaccination programme.
Cafes & Parks
Our café facilities at The Helix Park and Callendar House will close with tours of the Kelpies suspended. Car parks and toilets in our parks will remain open and we would like to encourage the community to continue to make use of our outdoor spaces to benefit their health and wellbeing. Please refer to our festive opening times for these facilities.
Membership Fees & Other Purchases
Membership fees will be frozen automatically throughout the closure. Service users do not need to contact us or worry about cancelling payments. Health & Fitness members will continue to have free access to our mobile app to view online fitness classes for the rest of the year and throughout the month of January and outdoor fitness classes are due to resume in the New Year. Anyone who has paid for classes or other services that cannot be delivered, will be contacted by a member of our team to arrange a refund. Cinema tickets and afternoon teas booked from 26 December onwards will also be refunded as per our cancellation policy.
