Reopening Statement – April 2021
The majority of Falkirk Community Trust’s facilities have been closed since Christmas due to the ongoing pandemic. With the Scottish Government’s easing of lockdown restrictions from April onwards, we are delighted to share our reopening plans with you. The following information aims to provide a guide, as far as we are able at the current time, to the reopening of our facilities.
Health & Fitness and Sport
All four of our major sports centres, including the Health and Fitness clubs listed below will reopen on Monday 26 April, allowing access to swimming pools, gyms and for adult non-contact sport activities (non-group activity only). Indoor fitness classes and outdoor adult contact sport activities are due to re-start on 17 May, following Government guidance.
- The Mariner Centre
- Stenhousemuir Gym
- Bo’ness Recreation Centre
- Grangemouth Sports Complex
To ensure we continue to minimise the risk of spreading the COVID virus, we have put in place the following guidance that we would ask all our customers to follow:
Pre-booking is essential for all activities with online and telephone bookings available from Friday 23 April.
Direct Debits for Health and Fitness members will resume on 1 May and the usual monthly payment will apply from that date. If, however, you are not able to return to our facilities just yet, you can freeze your membership for up to 12 months. If you wish to do this, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by 20 April. Please be aware that to freeze your membership we require a return date at the time of placing your account on hold.
The gym at Bo’ness will reopen on 26 April, however we recommend booking early as we have had to reduce the capacity to allow customers to exercise safely.
Whilst indoor fitness classes will not restart in April, we continue to offer our outdoor and online fitness classes. Our outdoor fitness classes are held Monday to Thursday at Grangemouth Stadium, are suitable for all levels and can be booked online. Our online fitness class programme provides 26 live streamed weekly classes, with a selection of pre-recorded workouts so you can choose when and how you exercise to fit your schedule. Our fitness app is available to download here with a variety of taster sessions to try before signing up to gain full access. Please email email@example.com for more information or to sign up for our outdoor or online classes - A 60 day pass for either outdoor or online fitness is only £10 (member rate) and £15 (non-member).
The Grangemouth Stadium gym will also reopen on Monday 26 April from 5pm - 9pm and will operate on Monday – Thursday evenings on a pre-booked basis. Carron Gymnastics Centre will also reopen on 26 April.
Swimming lessons will recommence from 26 April and parents will be contacted directly by our Bookings Team regarding this.
