How is Fire and Light 2020 different to last year's event?
2020 Visions is a myriad of interactive delights; a fusion of past and future where the audience transition from magical Victoriana to futuristic cyber-pagan technology, with ultraviolet face-painting, marshmallow toasting on open fires, tasty hot drinks and sweet treats to keep you warm. Explore the park and discover projections of magical creatures in the foliage to interactive characters and performances that seem to pop up out of nowhere. Father Time himself will make an appearance!
There will be places to contemplate and interact with resolutions, wishes and promises for the year ahead and reflect on your past and the deep shared history that brings us all together. The Helix Park will become home to an amazing array of performances and interactive installations featuring the very best circus and fire performers from across Scotland.
The Kelpies will be brought to life with music, light and fire. Fire jets will be choreographed to the powerful live performance of Taiko Drummers. When the drumming stops, an LED clad musician will perform on a spectacular laser harp. The walk will be about 4km and take about 90 mins to walk around, but there is lots to see and do so you can spend much longer at the event.
This event is for all ages, the site is accessible and suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
How long will the walk be?
The walking route is approximately 4km in length. We estimate it will take approximately 90 minutes to walk around. The site is fully accessible and is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. There are places to sit, eat and toast marshmallows on route.
Are pets allowed in the event?
No, please do not bring pets to the event because it is not suitable due to the content. We do allow guide dogs.
Can I bring an assistance dog with me?
Yes, guide dogs for the blind, hearing dogs for the deaf and assistance dogs are all permitted. We do ask that you be aware that the site can be busy in places, and that there are very hot lights, electrical cables, fire and loudspeakers throughout the park.
Is the event suitable for children?
Yes, there are lots to see and do at this family friendly event. It will involve walking around a park so please wear suitable footwear and wrap up warm!
What time does the event finish?
Tickets are based on an allocated time slot but the event and park closes at 10pm. The last entry is 8pm.
Will there be food available?
Yes, there will be a number of places with seating areas with a variety of food and hot drink offerings. Keep an eye out for marshmallow toasting! We recommend you bring cash as the majority of catering services available cash only.
Is alcohol permitted?
No, alcohol cannot be brought onto site and no alcohol will be sold at the event.
What should I wear?
Remember to wrap up warm and cosy with suitable footwear because it's an outdoor event in a park and it may be muddy or slippery underfoot. Surprisingly, it rains in Scotland sometimes, so we recommend you wear something waterproof too.
Will there be fireworks?
There will be no fireworks at this event, but there will be fire performances, pyrotechnics, interactive light installations and animated projections.
Are there toilets available?
Yes, there are toilets in the park and these are clearly signposted. There are also disabled toilets and a changing places toilet in the large car park.
Are Strobe Effects used in the event?
There will be an area using strobe lighting which will be clearly signposted and can be avoided, so anyone with photo sensitive epilepsy should be aware of this.
Will Helix Park be closed?
The Park will be open until 3pm on both days. The large car park will be open until 2pm on 2nd January. The small car park will be closed both dates.

Do you take credit/debit cards?
Most vendors will be cash only, so bring plenty of pennies. There is no cash machine on site; the nearest ATM is at Forth Valley College, Grangemouth Road or the BP Garage on Earls Gate roundabout.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are £10 per adult and £7.50 per child/go card holder concession. Children under 24 months go free and do not require a ticket. There are no other discounted rates available.
Car parking passes are available for the night cost £5.50 but please be aware that the number of these passes available is limited so book in advance.
Where are my tickets?
Your tickets will be emailed to you as soon as you book. Please check your spam folder is you cannot find them. Please print these tickets and your car parking pass (if you have pre-booked parking) and bring these along.

Can I collect tickets from the box office?
No, there is no collect at box office for this event. You will receive your ticket via email, please print off at home and bring it with you.
I have not received my email confirmation, is this normal?
No, if you haven't received an email confirming your ticket purchase, please send us details of your booking and when you booked your tickets. Please email email@example.com or call 01324 506850.
Will my tickets be posted out to me?
No, your tickets will be an e-ticket, so please print it our and bring it with you. If you cannot find your e-ticket please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01324 506850.
I have lost or mislaid my tickets, can I get duplicates?
Tickets will be emailed out, but if you can't find your tickets, please contact our box office on email@example.com with your booking reference and they will be able to update you or replace your tickets if required.
You may be required to prove your identity and/or proof of purchase.
Why do I need to buy a ticket in advance?
Yes, most of our shows sell out in advance and we don't want you to miss out. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for ticket updates.
Why do I need to buy a car parking pass in advance?
There are limited parking spots and you will not be able to buy a car parking pass on the night. There are lots of other options too, you can walk or cycle to the event.
What time should we arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your allocated time slot (and not earlier). This will give you plenty of time to get parked and get through Box Office before your adventure begins!
What does my ticket time mean?
The time on your ticket is time you will be allowed to enter the park through the ticket gates. Please arrive at box office no more than 15 minutes in advance of your ticket time.
Can I exchange my ticket?
Sorry, tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged after purchase.
Can I just show my e-mail confirmation to enter the event?
All tickets will be scanned at the Box Office and customers must have a e-ticket with a unique bar code. Valid tickets will be accepted in all formats, whether printed or on mobile phone.
Is there a waiting list for tickets if they sell out?
No. We are not able to add names to a waiting list when the tickets are sold out.
Is it suitable for children or elderly?
Yes! The event has been designed to cater for all ages and abilities; however, care should be taken on paths and walk ways.
Is it suitable for disabled visitors?
Yes the park is fully accessible to wheelchair users.

I am a blue badge holder, where can I park?
When you book your tickets please let us know if you hold a blue badge and we will allocate you a space at Falkirk Stadium. Can I bring a pushchair or wheelchair?
Yes, the event is fully accessible. We have baby changing, disabled and changing places toilets on site too.
Do you have wheelchairs or mobility scooters on site for public use?
No we do not, so you will need to provide your own mobility aids. The site is accessible for all wheelchairs.
Where can we park?
There are a number of parking spaces at Falkirk Stadium and a car parking pass can be bought with your ticket at £5.50 per car. You will receive your parking pass as an e-ticket. Parking passes MUST be printed and scanned at entrance of the car park. Falkirk Stadium car park will open at 4:00pm each day.
Please note: you need to purchase your parking pass in advance, parking passes will not be available to purchase at the stadium on the day.
There is lots of other parking available in Falkirk but the roads around The Helix are urban clearways and parking here is forbidden.

There are lots of other ways you can get to the event, from cycling, to walking, there is lots of free street parking around Falkirk too.
There is a drop off area is available from 4:15pm onwards at Falkirk Stadium. This is a drop off area only, parking in this area is strictly forbidden. There is no parking at the Helix Park
Where can I buy my parking pass from?
You can buy your parking pass online when you buy your tickets to the event. Your parking pass will be emailed to you in advance of the event. Your parking pass MUST be printed and scanned at the entrance to Falkirk Stadium car park.
I am a blue badge holder, where should I park?

What will happen if the weather is very bad?
The event will only be cancelled if the weather in Falkirk is perceived to be a danger to the public (e.g. extremely high winds)
The event will not be cancelled in the following circumstances:
- Heavy rain in Falkirk - we advise that all visitors dress appropriately for the weather
- Heavy rain in other areas of Scotland - we advise our visitors to take note of the weather conditions on route to the event and allow ample time for their journey.
- Very Cold Weather - we advise that our visitors dress warmly and appropriately for cold weather
The decision to cancel will be made at 11am on the day of the event. Shortly after which we will endeavour to contact you either by e-mail or by text and a notice will be posted on the front page of our website and social media sites. You should check the web site and social media from noon on 1st January & 2nd January, particularly if extremely high winds or storm conditions are forecast.
If the event is cancelled do I get a refund?
Yes, you will be refunded. Your payment details are not held on file so, in the event of a refund, please wait at least 48 hours and then contact us via email. If one of the event days is cancelled we CANNOT automatically accommodate you on the second day however you can go on line and purchase a new ticket.
If the event is cancelled can I book another date?
Yes, if the event on the 1st January is cancelled and there are still tickets for the 2nd you can purchase a new ticket.
Is photography allowed?
Yes, of course! If you are bringing a tripod, please be mindful of where you set it up and not block any paths or walkways. Don't forget to share your pictures on social media and tag us in! #fire&light
Can I bring my drone to the event?
No. Use of a drone on the site of the event, or within a 150 metre radius of the event site, contravenes aviation safety legislation and, to ensure the safety of the general public, we reserve the right to call the police to intervene.
